About the guide
I've never really read the Bible. Is this too advanced?
It's built for exactly that. Nothing assumes you know the difference between the Old and New Testament, who Paul was, or what a gospel is. If you're starting from zero, you're who this was written for.
What's actually on each page?
Author and audience, when it was written and what was happening at the time, a short summary of the book, its central themes, the key symbols to watch for, and open space for your own notes.
Do I need a particular translation?
No. The guide covers context, themes and structure, all of which hold true across translations. Use the KJV, NIV, ESV, NKJV, NLT, or whichever Bible you already own.
Is there a reading schedule?
Deliberately not. Plans create a deadline you can fall behind on, and falling behind is why most people stop. Read a page when you're about to read that book — that's the whole system.
Can I use it in a small group or Bible class?
Yes, and it's a common use. Reading the relevant page beforehand means you arrive with the context already in place, which makes the discussion far less intimidating.
Does it make a good gift?
It's one of the main reasons people buy it. Plenty of people who'd love this would never buy it for themselves, because they feel like they should already know it.

How big is it?
A5 — 5.5 by 8.3 inches. Small enough to keep in a bag alongside your Bible, large enough to read and write in comfortably.
What are the cover options?
Brown, Pink and Blue. The guide inside is identical in all three.
